Our country

Bolivia has 53 million hectares of forest resources (48% of its territory) which represent 10% of the existing tropical forests in South America. Sixteen million hectares are areas of permanent forest production. Current Bolivian forest legislation ensures the sustainability of these resources therefore Bolivia has become a world leader in certified forests.

On March 22, 2002 Bolivia received in the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Holland), the award "Gift to the Earth" from the Global Fund for Nature (WWFN - World Wide Fund for Nature).
